Sons of the soil deeply rooted with the scent of the mountains intertwined by the legacies of being fearless bears the name "POCHURY". A political consensus breathes about the cluster of small ethnic groups coming together to form Pochury tribe. A poetic depiction and metaphoric frame of the tribe escalates far from Icarus fall but rather sing the chorus by the rhymes of, '' Youngest yet wisest, Smallest yet smartest, A relentless soul.
The genesis of the tribe gravitate us back to the times of wondering age when the fate of man was to be negotiated to the mercy of nature. Like the Celtic speaking tribes and others everywhere around the world, written record was a far cry but the voice of the legends embark upon the urban believed that the humbled tribe is a cluster of natives from three village namely SAPO, KUCHU and KWIRY, which also serve as an acronym to the nomenclature, Pochury. It further includes the groups migrated from different face of land like from the Rengma tribe and Sangtam tribe which later form the formidable brotherhood which by political scenerio envisage a perfect entity born out of chunks. An alien, specifically the britishers understanding of the tribe was enshrined with the other fellow tribes, they regarded the tribals as the Eastern Rengma and Eastern Sangtam. JP Mills in his book, 'The Rengma Nagas,1937', referred the tribals as the Eastern Rengma. Pochury falls under the umbrella of various Naga tribes of Nagaland, India and resides in the eastern part of Phek district chanting to the clouds of rich heritage at Meluri town by the river Tizu.

Like the Roman's loyalty to the republic, the tribals loyalty to the tribe have had been gigantic like the galaxies that grows beyond the vision of mankind. The young generations are instilled, inspired and passed on with the patriotic qualities like receiving an ointment from Prophet Samuel. The blooming of Pochury tribe in our modern society is a revelation of being patriotic in the past, paving a way for the glory days. With an avalanche like change of trend pirating on the sea of an innocent neighborhood across the tribals society with deceitful, betrayal and disgraceful traits, the patriotic souls of the tribals remains unscathed leaving no room for nefarious to devour the night and graciously stand tall like a majestic amaryllis blooming in the meadows. Relationship between fellow tribals guided by the stars of mutual trust and one kind of an unbreakable bond cruising the word of God into practice like it's written in John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. The male group are also gifted in creating traditional spoons and furniture which are worth displaying at larger platforms. The woman folks of the tribe are also gifted in making artistic traditional shawl like AMIETHSII which could be reckoned as an identity symbol of the tribe when compared to the rest with its unique design. These air of talent floating across the touch of Pochury community reflects and forms an image to the onlookers who then hails Pochury as the sons of talented souls. Any genuine observer would eventually reckon Pochury as the land of talented souls which later inspires its own way to the write up of an ideal Pochury.
